At this point, I'm calling the pitching staffs a wash. We'll see how things progress over the course of the season.

To me, "bitter" only indicates that someone has taken it personally and has gotten out of hand. So long as there's no beanbrawl, we should be OK.

I'm more interested in seeing what you guys do, and what we do. All the personal stuff is for the tabloids and the easily excited, IMO. I just wanna see good ballgames.

I'm going to let that link stand for now, but please make yourself a good poster. Whichever team(s) you're a fan of, they're represented here. We've also got people who love the Yanks and those who couldn't care the least for them, to put it nicely. Trust me on this, you'll get far greater respect and be around here far longer if you have something positive to say.

Regardless of which team(s) a fan supports, if they can talk baseball in general, or history, trades, informed opinions about rules or anything else, they'll get more respect that way.

I'll simply inform you that while this isn't a pro-Yankee website, this also isn't an anti-Yankee website, so please just deal civilly and nicely here, since I consider this a community of which there are many family members.

If you are a good baseball fan, good citizen here, please feel free to state the team(s) you root for, and set up an introduction in this forum, explaining your views on the game, its history, what you like, don't like. Be it the DH, Interleague, 162 games instead of 154, blocking the plate, triples, saves or anything else related to this great game we all love.

To me, people are here to talk baseball. You can't just smack talk about a team all day. Heck, you can lay a little smack in here, but at least let the theme be baseball, not smack.

I guess we differ. Lots of people here who can't stand the Yanks, but if they can at least talk a good game, I'm happy.

Still, I don't want anybody here thinking they can just talk too much about how they hate one team and feel I won't notice. The newbies are the ones I keep my evil eye on the most.

Anyway, Ken, isn't it way past your bedtime about now? Or were you waiting up to see the Yanks win on OD? Either case, I think I just heard the Missus say to get some shut-eye.

After all, my only beef is really with Georgie because he seems to have a bottomless pit of $ to pursue the best free agents every year. That's all. After all, no one is perfect. I'm a BoSox fan (but have been a Brooklyn Dodger fan longer), and look at what our groundscrew did prior to game 7 of last year's ALCS: they put the World Series logo on the field for cryin' out loud! Then look what happened.

Yes, I realize this is the Bitter Rivalry thread. Ken has been very involved, as have just about every fan of every team if you read the last few dozen pages. However, we prefer to use witty replies, rather than smack. I'm not saying you do, but since you're new here, I had no choice but to be cautious.

Still, if you'd like to introduce yourself here, letting people know about you and your baseball viewpoints, please feel free to do so. I actively encourage people who are passionate and knowledgeable about the game to do so. That way, the more good people around, the better, and people can use that thread as a reference point as to what your overall style of posting will likely be. Please see the following example:

As to Yankee fans, yes, we'll get a big share of criticism, moreso than most, but regardless of the team, I think it helps to remain positive towards all, even if you're not crazy about George.

There are many forums here, including a Boston forum under "American League", and Brooklyn, under "Teams of Yesteryear". Both are excellent places to post, so please enjoy your stay.
