Charlie Steiner calling an infield fly:

"OH MY GAWWWWWWWWD! This one could clear the fence! Out number three recorded on the pitchers mound. And that's that."

With all the talk about souvenir dirt on the Shea demo thread, thought this was interesting - signed by Walter O'Malley, no less.

Here are a couple of shots you don't usually see of Dodger Stadium.

Nice stands shots: WS 1963 from marpowfacepants on flickr.

Opening Day, 1962 from _G2. Love the program and stenciled seats (Are we in the gray numbers or red numbers?), and those big blue arms!

                  That was an interesting read.

I'm glad we don't have a roof! And the third deck isn't split, so that rendering was a bit off.

What's with the obsession with roofs in those days?

These winter classics should be reserved for the North, I cant picture it being in a sunbelt stadium

Hockey in the South is weird, pretty much, even South Florida has an NHL Team (Panthers.).

Dodger Stadium is a suburban style ballpark

Dodger Stadium is definitely a suburban style ballpark. Does anyone disagree with that? I'm certainly not the only one acknowledges that fact. The Dodgers themselves acknowledge that. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing, but to not acknowledge the fact that Dodger Stadium is perhaps the definition of a suburban style ballpark is ignorant.
