    Full extension and arm bar

When is full extension an arm bar?

What are the parameters of having good extension and how can you have full extension on an inside pitch?

    thanks

So does extension occur after you hit the ball.

If so have you really got to your full potential bat speed?

Full extension (both arms) normally happens after contact. It's called the "power V".

Early lead arm extension can be forced when the pitch is so far down or away that it forces early lead arm extension to reach it.

Arm bar is a flaw that happens when a hitter maintains full extension of the lead arm from launch to contact causing a wide/slow hand path into contact.

Watch Pujols hit middle-in vs. low. On the low pitch, while the lead arm is forced to extend to reach the pitch, it is NOT barred at launch:

EDIT: Acceleration into extension is where bat-speed is peeked at contact.
