These men are working on a smaller mockup of what the Minute Maid Park batter's eye will soon look like.

Excellent. I'm going there this Sunday for the College Classic. I'm eager to see the changes.

Went to the College Baseball Classic. Saw the Baylor vs. LSU game. The workers were working and doing welding during the game. I should have taken a pic.

I took this picture during the TCU and Ole Miss game. Unfortunately it looks like crap because my camera lens is scratched up (any homemade-remedy suggestions greatly appreciated!)

Three new flag poles are now attached to the limestone archway in center. Flags will be raised and lowered from the low roof track.

Any reason why they did 2 boards per side instead of 1 giant board on that random rectangle monument looking thing?
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.

Here's a look at the new 409' distance mark to center and the completed batter's eye at Minute Maid Park.

The new center field area has a seamless design with the rest of Minute Maid Park. There's a new incredible view for watching Astros games.

Lexus Field Club. It's where Tal's Hill used to be. It's also really, really cool.

I think it's better than having a solid green painted wall.

Some pics from this weekend's series against KC...
As this was my first visit, I was surprised by how close this ballpark was to downtown Houston and by how little local revitalization had taken place (there were several rundown warehouses with homeless individuals sleeping on curbs or heckling guests). However, within the ballpark, there were a variety of concession options, and the new additions of Shake Shack and Torchy's look beautiful.IMG_0531.jpgIMG_0534.jpgIMG_0539.jpgIMG_0541.JPG
