In 2007, our DH had his worst season since 2003;

our closer had the highest ERA in major league history for a pitcher with 40+ saves;

our leftfielders combined for 15 homers and 78 RBI -- only 3 AL teams were worse;

our rightfielders were even worse -- combining for 15 homers and 73 RBI;

our firstbasemen combined for 81 RBI, 4th-worst in the AL;

our best starter was sent to Buffalo in May to make room for Cliff Lee, who was a total bust;

and yet, we won 96 games.

Things do not have to get a lot better for us to repeat as AL-Central champs.

If our current players have just average seasons (for them) we will be fine. If our DH avoids having his worst season ever, we will be fine. If we get ANY production from our corner outfielders, we will be fine. If our closer is only marginally better, we will be fine.
