    Greatest Phillies Player Poll 2

Our first poll is over, and little surprise that the no. 1 spot is claimed by none other than Mike Schmidt, who recieved 13 of 21 votes (59.09%). Alexander and Roberts each got 3 votes, Ashburn and Klein recieved 1 vote each.

The next few polls should be a little more interesting with those four each vying for spots, and Steve Carlton probably factoring in as well.

In this poll, you are picking the second greatest player in Phillies history. Remember that we are not neccesarily rating a player's entire career, but rather what they accomplished while with the Phillies only.

If voting for "Other" please specify which player you are voting for.

Also, please let me know if there are players you would like to see on future polls that are not on the current poll.

    Results
    1) Mike Schmidt
    2) ???

I place heavy weight on the length of time with the Phillies. At first I was going to vote for Alexander but he only played eight seasons for the Phils. Carlton pitched much longer with the Phils.

Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.-Crash Davis

This one's gonna go down to the wire, hope we get a few more votes in before it closes.

Keep polls open longer - you might get different results

You closed the second poll just before I would have voted for Carlton (which would have sent it into a tie). How many days are you allowing for each poll? I suggest keeping the polls open for a bit longer than the first two were open.

This is what I'll do. Philliesfiend, you are someone on here who's vote should definitely count, so I'm going to call this a tie and post a tie-breaker poll to determine who should be #2, Alexander or Carlton.

Look for the new thread and place your vote, I'll leave it up for two days.

Future rounds, I will leave the poll up for three days.

I'll go post the tiebreaker right now.
