Another nice find Mr. Peters. At about the 5:00 minute mark you can see a group of the old original 'box seat" chairs out in left field behind the end zone. There's also in that 10 minutes of video at least 3 late hits that would draw flags now.

the post-war backstop layout can be seen in the last pix.
there were 2 sets of railings behind the plate, the 1st seat row was a few feet behind the screen.
hard to believe that the re-signing of steve whitaker in '68 rated a presser with the obligatory snow shot, considering he was exposed in the expansion draft later that year...

Connie Mack Day - Yankee Stadium - August 1949
Repost? Probably, but a nice pic anyway.

shutter bug jehovah's witnesses in '58...
speaking of snapping the photogenic, a little more stylish form than the usual denizens of left field...
Lp, I don't think that is a re-post. That's a great pic of the back of the bleachers which shows the plank structure (in the lower right portion) and the descending elevated subway line in the distance. I think that pic is from 1933-5, based on the pics below.
First, a bigger version of the pic Lpeters199 found. Note the Mrs. Wagner's Pies and Coca-Cola ads:
Then a zoom of the pic. I've never seen the Jayson ad, so if anyone has, please post other pics that show it, and/or give the date of other pics.
The Mrs. Wagner's Pies ad was in place (in the same spot) from 1932-35. The Coca-Cola ad is visible in pics dated to 1933-4.

something that had been discussed before. above the facade were clusters of cone shaped projections and the question was - what are they?
well, they are lights. in a rare pix with them lit from the '37 international golden gloves.
