British Mets Fan in Need Of Help!!

    Greetings from England.

I am a huge Mets fans and having made the trip over to Florida for Spring training on numerous occasions I'm finally going to get a chance to see the Mets play at the Shea ( I hope)

I will be in New York from 17th April - 24th April 2008 and whilst looking for the schedule for next season I have seen contrasting information for games during these dates. I found a press release that differed from the official sites schedule and a ticket site that differed even further!!!

Can anybody confirm that the Mets will be playing the Nationals at Shea Stadium on Weds 23rd April? Or even confirm all fixtures during these dates.

Also I have only previously used ticketmaster to buy tickets for events in the US and would appreciate it if anyone could recommend other good sites for baseball tickets. As it will be the only chance I get to go to Shea Stadium I would like to get some premium seats.

    Thanks in advance

    Gus

The official site (I'd go by them) has the Mets playing the Nationals in Washington, not New York.

Not sure what your plans are on April 17, but that is the only game they have at Shea (7:10 start) when you are in town.

Thanks. Just found another press release on the official site that confirms what you said. Not sure if the wife would be up for hitting a game the day we touch down. I Will have to break it to her gently

I forgot to mention. You should have few, if any, problems getting tickets since it's a weekday night game against the Nationals. Try getting tickets through Mets.com first. If that doesn't work, try StubHub. When you order them, you might have to pick them up from somewhere (my dad did this for opening day. I think he picked them up at a hotel a few blocks from Shea).

The hotel is kind of hard to find, or it was when my family got tickets from there.
You must pick battles that are small enough to win, but large enough to matter

You aren't from Salisbury, are you?

While visiting family over the holidays, I saw a young boy in a Mets jacket on his way into see a Salisbury City FC game.

I'd imagine that he got it as a gift from someone who had been to NYC and had absolutely no idea who the Mets were, but it was still nice to see the NY in blue and orange instead of the typical navy and white.

If you aren't from Salisibury, where are you from and how did you become a Mets fan?
