"he probably used some performance enhancing drugs so he could do a better job on his report...i hear they make you gain weight" - Dr. Zizmor

"I thought it was interesting and yes a conversation piece. Next time I post a similar story I will close with the question "So, do you think either of them have used steroids?" so that I can make the topic truly relevant to discussions about today's game." - Eric Davis

"In the end it all comes down to talent. You can talk all you want about intangibles, I just don't know what that means. Talent makes winners, not intangibles. Can nice guys win? Sure, nice guys can win - if they're nice guys with a lot of talent. Nice guys with a little talent finish fourth and nice guys with no talent finish last." --Sandy Koufax

Guys, I am loading these teams into my Diamond Mind Baseball All Time Greats Sim. Most of the players are there, based on their best 5 consecutive seasons like you drafted. In the cases of a couple of more modern players who were not in the game yet I found a player to substitute for them and changed the name to your guy. Not every team listed here has a full roster. Some teams were too incomplete to use, and some others I added a guy or three to fill out the bench and/or bullpen. I;m still setting up the league but I will run a season soon.

    Stay tuned!

Don't know how you guys did this, but John Rocker is on 2 teams. That's not a problem for me though, I can put him on 2 teams. Every team is playing in a neutral park and we're using the neutral era, which is the average of all seasons from 1901-1992.

Still finishing up with the rosters and settings.

Almost ready. There's 8 teams in the league. I like the Brooklyn Artfuls to win it.

    Cleveland Spiders
    Detroit Wolverines
    Anderson Joes
    Wade's Batmen
    Brett's Bangers
    Kennewick Cougars
    La Jolla Minstrels
    Brooklyn Artfuls

    Okay, here we go!

154 game season with a DH. Most teams are light with their position player depth, choosing instead to go with 12 pitchers. Also, most teams did not think much about fielding. The team I like is weak defensively in the OF with Belle in LF and Wilson in CF. They do have Ashburn as a backup, and he'll be a defensive replacement for both Belle and Wilson.

Shows what I know. The team I liked finished tied for last and had the worst run differential. But these 8 teams were VERY even. Only 9 games separated first from last, and the first place team is only 8 games over .500. The top 5 teams are only two games apart. I never saw a league so close before. It's like the 1967 American League race.

The Batmen backed in to the pennant, losing 8 of their last 10 games. The Bangers lost their last 5 games. They needed to win just one of those 5 to tie for the pennant. What a race.

Some pitchers missed a lot of time. Guidry and Hudson each had a long injury during a brawl.
