Here's that video, great color footage of a young Joe DiMaggio too:
Thanks for posting BSmile!...Great video. I just ordered the book.
What a surprise! I've got a little connection to the book: On the web site, check out the second picture in the photo gallery. It's a picture of the Yankee pitching staff from 1936. The credit for the photo says: "From the Boston Public Library, Leslie Jones collection." I actually did the player identifications for this photo! Even though my name isn't mentioned, I'll consider this my 15 minutes of fame!

Babe & Claire Take In A Game
Rebels Stadium - Dallas, TX - July 9, 1947
It's an American Legion game that everybody is watching, all part of Babe's extensive Good Will Tour that was sponsored by the Ford Motor Co. I posted a different version of this pic back in April 2010 here: Babe Visits Dallas - July 1947 Pt.4---That could possibly be Ford Frick sharing their box seat.

Babe Arrives For His Final Yankees Camp
March 1934 - St. Petersburg, Florida
Babe Boxes Four Boys At Once!
Artie McGovern's Gym, NYC - c.1933
Well, he's not really going to fight them...although this pic with four young boxing hopefuls is a classic. That's Artie McGovern looking on behind them.

Mr. Ruth Gets A Light From Mrs. Ruth
Babe's NYC Apartment - April 1942
Yup, that's Babe's wife Claire lighting his pipe moments before the pic in the previous post was taken.

Babe Ruth Out Of World Series With Infected Arm
Wire Photo - October 8, 1921
In tribute to the Yankees 'amazing performance' in the 2012 postseason...ugh.
Babe Gives Gary Cooper A Ride
Samuel Goldwyn Studios Back Lot - Spring 1942
Taken during the filming of "The Pride Of The Yankees". Gary Cooper looks a little nervous on those handle bars! I wonder if that bike (with the personalized name plate) is sitting in somebody's collection these days.

Gary would not be in that position if he knew anything about the Bam's driving habits or record.
I have a folder containing about a dozen speeding violations..........that we know of, three roll over accidents, demlolished cars.
One accident in Boston, the very young Babe, trying to thread the needle in his new car, between two street cars.............going in opposite directions. Car demolished.
Babe & Lou On The Campaign Trail For Al Smith
Columbus, Ohio - October 23, 1928
It was 84 years ago today that the guys were looking dapper in their derby hats (also known as the 'bowler' in the UK) while campaigning for Al Smith's eventual losing effort for the 1928 U.S. Presidency.

The Babe Hits His 700th
Detroit, Michigan - July 13, 1934
Here's a new pic of Babe in the clubhouse after hitting his 700th HR. It's a bit of a different angle from my original post a while back. The wire tag doesn't mention who the 'youth' is, but I had the tag from a different photo (ACME Cleveland Bureau) that tells us his name was Leonard Beals. He managed to get 20 bucks and an autographed baseball from The Babe, not bad!

Hitting Lessons From The Babe
1939 New York World's Fair
That's The Babe on the mic giving some baseball advice while Christy Walsh is ushering the previous young hitter out of harm's way.
1930's NBC Radio Promo Pic
It's hard to pinpoint an exact date on this one, but it really doesn't look like the 1940's version of Babe, so I'm guessing 1930's (possibly towards the end of his playing days).
Movie Star At Yankee-Detroit Crucial Series
Yankee Stadium - August 14, 1934
Of course, Babe was well acquainted with Harold Lloyd having played a part in his classic 1928 silent movie 'Speedy'.
A Meeting Of Legends In Their Own Time
Knute Rockne, The Babe & Pop Warner - Yankee Stadium - July 19, 1928
As you'd might expect, Babe's response to this legendary meeting was to hit 2 HR's vs. the White Sox that afternoon: Boxscore 7/19/1928: NYY 6- ChiSox 4
Candy Time For The Big Train & The Bambino
'Ruth's Home Run Candy' Promo Pic - Yankee Stadium 1926
Here's a fresh re-edit of a photo that Babefan posted a while back (Thanks!). My research brings me to the conclusion that this photo took place at Yankee Stadium during the 1926 season. The socks that Walter Johnson is wearing are unique to the 1926 season.
