Babe Visits The Gonzaga Gridiron
Spokane, Washington - November 1926
The handwritten date on the photo is actually wrong. From the GU Archives: "Babe Ruth and GU football coach Clipper Smith stand in the Gonzaga University stadium. On November 16, 1926, home run king George Herman “Babe” Ruth came to campus to meet the Gonzaga football team. Ruth was in Spokane for a week at the Pantages Theater. After punting the ball a few times, he met with members of the team, gave a short talk and said that he was unofficially picking them to win the homecoming game on Thanksgiving Day against Washington State College. WSC beat Gonzaga 7-0 with a crowd of over 10,000 at Gonzaga. Note: Photograph has erroneous date of 1928 written on front."

Babe Ruth & The Gang - 1930 World Series
St. Louis vs. Philadelphia - Sportsman's Park, St. Louis
(L-R) Babe Ruth, John McGraw, Gabby Street, Christy Walsh, Connie Mack, Nick Altrock & Ty Cobb
Here's another new, larger re-edit of a classic Christy Walsh postseason group shot that also features a slightly motion blurred Ty Cobb.

"Babe Ruth" Witch-E Base-Ball Game
c.1920 - Baltimore Novelty Co., Inc.
All the research I've done leads to a dating of c.1920, even though the picture of Babe is much earlier and the game was made in Baltimore.

Babe Welcomes Jacob Ruppert To The Hall Of Fame
St. Petersburg, Florida - March 8, 1930
Well...of course that's not what's really happening here. Usually a picture of shaking hands with Col. Ruppert meant that a contract had been agreed upon, in this case, Babe agreeing to $160K for two more seasons. Before purchasing the Yankees in 1915, Ruppert achieved the rank of Colonel in the Seventh Regiment, National Guard of New York. He was then elected a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives before inheriting a brewing company from his father in 1915, the Jacob Ruppert Brewing Company, which became best known for its Knickerbocker beer. Ruppert's long overdue election to the Baseball Hall Of Fame is based on his bringing Babe Ruth to New York, building Yankee Stadium and overseeing the beginnings of the Yankees dynasty in the 1920's and 1930's.

Babe Strikes A Pose At The Roosevelt Hotel
If anybody knows who's standing next to The Babe, please leave a comment. He looks really, really familiar to me...but I just can't put a name on him. More on the Roosevelt here: "For a classic New York City hotel experience, none of the other Hotels in New York City comes close to The Roosevelt Hotel. Opened in 1924 at the height of the Jazz Age, the "Grand Dame of Madison Avenue" continues to impress guests in its prime location at Madison Avenue and 45th Street in midtown Manhattan. We are the pinnacle of classic New York City Hotels."

Judging from the lack of leaves on the trees, it's probably either late fall or early spring.
Any other info for this pic, especially where it was taken?

Another Game For War Relief - 1940's
I'm not exactly sure which of the War Bond games this is from, it might be the game at Fenway Park in 1943, or it could be somewhere else. Who's an expert on dugouts...and who's the Navy player?

Yeah, still nothing yet. If/when I ever find one, I'll post it...even if it's in terrible condition.

I know we brushed on this topic earlier in this thread...but does anyone have a copy of the 1991 Babe TV movie starring Stephen Lang. I cannot find it anywhere and I really want to see it!
