Babe Ruth At The Dentist Before A Double Header vs. Red Sox
    ⚾ 84 Years Ago Today - Boston, MA - August 5, 1931
~ In case you were wondering, The Babe managed to play in both games that day, he had 5 hits including his 29th home run! - - - (Wire Tag) “Many a big league pitcher wishes he could have Babe Ruth, Yankees slugger, as helpless as Dr. W.S. Ross has him here in his office at Boston, Mass. It’s all voluntary, however, as baseball’s big gun had to repair his bridges and went posthaste to the dentist. 8/5/31”

Babe Ruth Rests His Leg, Injured In Slide vs. The Tigers
93 Years Ago Today In New York City - August 13, 1922
~ (Wire Tag) "Babe Ruth Out Of Game When Abscess Forms On Leg - Yankee baseball fans are blue today because Babe Ruth, the hard hitting home run king is out of the game for several days. An abscess had formed on his left leg the result of a slide he took in Detroit. Babe was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital to have the leg tended to and today he was resting comfortably in the Ruth apartment at the Hotel Ansonia. Mrs. Ruth acted as nurse."

LMAO after this pic, there can be no doubt he was the most photographed person on the planet.
"By common consent, Ruth was the hardest hitter of history; a fine fielder, if not a finished one; an inspired base runner, seeming to do the right thing without thinking. He had the most perfect co-ordination of any human animal I ever knew." - Hugh Fullerton, 1936 (Chicago sports writer, 1893-1930's)

Babe Ruth Slides In At Home Plate, Out Or Safe?
    ⚾ 81 Years Ago Today - Yankee Stadium - August 15, 1934
~ (Wire Tag) “Yankees Snap Tigers Winning Streak - Before 10,000 fans in the Yankee stadium, August 15, the New York Yankees snapped the 14-game winning streak of the Detroit Tigers by defeating them 8-2. Photo shows Babe Ruth out at the plate in the fifth inning when he tried to score from second on Selkirk’s single. Goslin’s throw to the plate cut him down, Cochrane making the put out.”

The Babe Meets Up With The Brown Bomber
    78 Years Ago Today - Pompton Lakes, N.J. - August 25, 1937
~ (Wire Tag) “Babe Ruth looks over Joe Louis’ weapons after Joe hit one for the man who was once known as something of a hitter himself. While The Babe watched Joe spar, Louis leaned over the ropes and remarked, "I’m going to hit one this time for you, Babe.” He did, and sparmate Tiger Hairston was dazed. Thursday night he defends his title against Tommy Farr, the boxing pride of England.”
