I just read at metsblog.com that El Duque threw a soft bullpen session instead of batting practice as he was scheduled. In fact, he's already behind the schedule.

So start the season with him in the rotation is freaking me a little bit. We should try to send Heilman plus unkown (not F-Mart or Pelfrey) to Tampa for Kazmir who definitly will not resign with the Rays. If they want Jon Niese or Joe Smith or Ambiorix Burgos send them south. Our farm looks good with just 2 out of these 3 potential closers/setup guys. Maybe to please them send them a position player, too.
Let El Duque setup for Wagner or let him be a long reliever/emergency starter. It looks to me like his career is over, we shouldn't have him in the rotation. Maybe the long reliever/emergency part would work better, because Duaner Sanchez and/or Pedro Feliciano wouldn't have problems to setup for Billy.
But please take El Duque out of the rotation and try to get Kazmir (back).

    Important

    ESPN reports

In BP today, Beltran was hit in his tricep, by a rouge Santana fastball. He appears to be alright thought.

The laces of the ball were imprinted in Beltran's tricep. Can't wait for Jimmy Rollins to have the same experience . . .

Wow, Maine went on the internet for the first time.

For real? Isn't he in his 20's? How is that possible?

Btw, what has Ed Coleman said about how Pedro is looking so far?

I drafted him in my fantasy league. Gonna be hoping and rooting double for him I guess. Hope he throws 150 innings at least.
