But that is a beauty and I am happy for you!!!

This cap reminds me of the caps I wore as a kid. I never bought those $1 jobs at Ebbets Field or Roosevelt Stadium. I would buy a blue cap at my local hobby shop ($1.25 I think) and a Brooklyn "B" for 25c that my mother would then iron on the cap! Dad would actually paint the button on the top white for me, and I was all set for the summer. I would get a new one each April. The hobby shop sold iron-on lettering for the Yanks, Giants, and Dodgers.

My hat is also a much darker blue, then your photos pete. I also will have to take my cap outside and see if that makes a difference.

    Outdoor Photos...

Here are a few outdoor shots, two in direct sunlight and two not in direct sunlight. The blue looks a bit different than my indoor shots using the flash.

Looks really great 'pete, I love the photos. My cap still does not appear as dark blue as yours so there still seems to be some question as to why there is such a color variance. Will told me to wear the cap in the sun and when the sun bleaches the cap all of the caps made from that color felt will look more similar. I just don't know why there should be "that" much of a color difference. From the sounds of it, tonypug may have yet another shade - post some photos tony!

In all, I think the "B" logo looks fantastic and is the closest thing to authentic on the market today and for decades.

Enjoy the cap and wear it proudly - I love the jacket, too.

I'm satisfied with my cap. Like I said before--this cap is far superior to what we've been settling for since 1958...........it's a 9.5 out of a possible 10 on my personal rating system scale.

Lou: Try holding your cap along side the computer screen while viewing my pix. BTW, thanks for the compliment on the jacket. I got a fabulous deal on it off Ebay. The jacket that Branca hands to the Dodger batboy as he takes the mound in that fateful playoff game in 1951 is the very same. If you look closely at the picture of me sitting in my khaki shorts, you'll see my 1955 World Series Championship ring.

I didn't mean to imply I own the ACTUAL Branca jacket. Mine is a reproduction. Sorry for any confusion.

I noticed the ring too! Fan-tastic! I love it!

I tried the side by side thing but mine is still way different. I'm going to try another shot with me in it...

Hey 'pete, what color is the leather headband? Is it the dark brown leather or the lighter?

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Happy to report my birthday wish came true and I got the cap tonight! It is the best cap I've gotten from Cooperstown ballcap. The color appears darker than Pete's but mine was damp still as I was breakin it in. Couldn't wait! Hope the color fades a bit in time, but the size is perfect.
I'm having problems trying to put pics on here. When I can I will post them.

My cap is totally different then you guys. Mine appears to be almost black, and it doesn't look like the same material.

I'm sipping on a perfect Brooklyn egg cream, reading all these posts. Let's all take a deep breath. What we should realize is that everyone's digital camera and PC is probably showing slightly different hues and tints. Relax. We should all give these caps some time to break-in, lose their shine and newness. A few rainstorms and sun-blasts (at the beach, etc.) and these puppies will be super-great.

Here's a couple of quick and dirties taken by my 10 year old daughter. Indoors with flash and without. Note the color changes of the cap from dark to lighter with flash and without - this is looking more like a variation in camera - computer - lighting and perhaps not as a significant variation in the cap colors - I don't know...

Please excuse my lousy mug and concentrate on the cap!!!

I agree 100%, 'pete, time to calm down and enjoy our caps!!! They do look pretty terrific.

How do you break a cap in by making it damp as posted earlier?

Lou: Great pictures! This should lay to rest all of our concerns. It's the flash, no flash, sun, no sun, camera, PC, etc. that's making us all a bunch of nervous nellies. Your cap looks just like mine. I even called my wife to look, and she agrees. BTW, there ain't nuthin' wrong with your "lousy mug"........my pictures were taken without a shave and my American Idol makeup/guyliner. C'mon you other dudes....post pix of yourselves!

To coin another famous Brooklyn "resident" (23 Chauncey Street to be exact - ring a bell?), "You're a regular riot!!!"

Thanks, again, 'pete, this has been one hell of a ride.

Oh, I almost forgot, so should I call Will to discuss the making of the correct 50's style cap - LOL!!!!!!!!! I can hardly take it!!!

...and yes, post your mugs with your caps, Fellas.

Brace yourself Lou........some guys stand under the shower with their Cooperstown Caps on and then let them dry while dripping on their head.
