Fifteen people were inducted in 1947 and only one them attended the ceremonies, Ed Walsh. The other inductees were Joe Tinker, Johnny Evers, Frank Chance, Ed Pank, Rube Waddell, Tom McCarthy, Jesse Burkett, Jack Chesbro, Joe McGinnity, Clark Griffith, Frank Frisch, Carl Hubbell, Mickey Cochrane and Lefty Grove. The living players took some heat for not shpwing up. The next year when there were some well publicised incidents pf players wanting to skip the All Star Game, there were calls within the game for doing away with both the All Star Game and the Hall of Fame.

I've also read that Griffith didn't attend future inductions as well.
