Dizzy Dean & some fellow Chicago Cubs, 1938-39.---OK, enough ad's. Back to pictures. Anybody want to guess the year on this picture?---Player Identifications provided courtesy of Gary Livacari (GaryL).

That picture of Dizzy Dean with the two Cubs...looks like Billy Herman on the right, not sure about the guy in the middle.

The year could be anywhere between '38 and '41, when Dean and Herman were teammates on the Cubs. Maybe someone can analyze the uniform to get a specific year.

The uniform book indicates it was either 1938-39.

Thanks Dave for posting this ad. Its GREAT! All these ads are great! Any idea how someone would find out how many Bradley ads were put out with baseball players of that time? I would love to have the set.

I only have five Bradley sweaters ads. All of them are from Baseball Magazines from 1924. I posted the other four in this thread already, because they had team pictures. (Cubs, Pirates, Yankees, Browns) I buy issues from the teens and twenties when I can find/afford them. I have 8 of the 12 from 1924. I really hope that there are more Bradley sweaters ads in the last four issues if and when I can find them. Unfortunately a lot of those old magazines are missing the back covers. I guess fans kept the player photos and ads. I'll keep hunting!

Wow that 27 Braves pan looks great! Love the sepia look as well. I appreciate all you are doing in here and its nice that we can share with each person that comes in here the love we have for this great game of yesterday. Any idea when this photo was taken? That looks like my grandfather, Ted Goulait, in the middle of the back row. If so, this has to be early 1913, before he was sent to Toronto.

Can you guys tell me who you recognize in the dugout including the guy on the far right. He looks like another Eddie Bennett. Was he a mascot or is that just the way he is crouching?

Off the top of my head I can see Jack Barry, Eddie Murphy, Jack Lapp, Joe Bush, Bob Shawkey, Frank Baker, Weldon Wycoff, Eddie Plank, Ira Thomas, Larry Kopf (this, along with the uniform/cap style dates the photo to 1914). As to which is which - if you can repost the photo with superimposed numbers - I can then tell you which is which.

That is mascot Van Zelt, far right, who sufferred from some physical deformity.
