I guess Christy Mathewson was off warming up when this beauty was taken.

The unknown guy in top row, far right could be Jack Warner (C)...see what you think. No idea on the other guy in the front row. About the only guy left on the roster it could be is Billy Milligan, but not close enough to make a call.

Seems like the '13 Giants get a lot of attention here on the Pano thread...but that's only because so many alternate pics of the team keep showing up (and in very large form). This one should be the final version. Cheers! ~B

Quite a bit of major league talent on this early minor league squad. I really love the title heading of this very rare poster, it's quite elegant and perfect for the period.

Quite a few notable names here, including Mgr. Chuck Dressen who took over the Oaks after being ousted in Brooklyn. His tenure with the Dodgers was cut off when he asked O'Malley for a new, three year contract...thus beginning the Walter Alston era.

So how about another all-new, large scale panoramic for a change! It is the name of the thread and all. So here's a great shot of the classic '21 Seals, featuring quite a bit of talent (as usual), including Lefty O'Doul, Jim Scott and Ernie Shore.

There's very little info about this squad on BB-Ref, except for Smead Jolley who later batted .305 in a short 4 year major league career. Smead actually seemed to prefer the minor leagues where he managed to collect 3,043 hits and a .367 BA in 16 seasons. Maybe he would have been a Hall Of Famer had he chosen to play in the big leagues...we'll never know. What we do know is that he was a truly terrible fielder, so maybe that was a factor as well in the days before the DH.
