Wow, Jerry is pretty much right there heightwise with Murphy, Winfield, Kingman, and JR Richard in his row...I didn't realize he was such a big guy!
Kind of mean to make Ken Reitz stand next to Parker, same with Garner and Carlton. Makes Parker look about 7 feet tall.
How many people remember Jose Cruz, near the far left in the middle row? Fantastic ballplayer whose numbers didn't look great because the Astrodome was his home park.

1955 Old Timers' Day - Yankee Stadium
Today the Yankees will be hosting their 66th Old Timers' Day in the Bronx, so I though I'd post a throwback to a classic from 1955. I'll leave the names off for you guys to guess them (shouldn't be too hard).

1907 New York Highlanders Team
1907 Highlanders Team Stats
The original for today's edit comes from Keith Olbermann's blog: "Baseball Nerd" back in April where he discussed the time period when the name "Highlanders" was phased out for the better known "Yankees".
Can anybody recommend a website other than e-bay that these photos could be purchased from. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm not sure of the specific year for this great team portrait, but Oscar Charleston was on this squad (front row, 2nd left). Therefore, this pic probably dates from 1922-23. Cheers! ~B

Here's a very rare picture of the '12 Red Sox, looking spiffy...fresh from their victory in the 1912 World Series. The older gentleman in the front row (4th from left) is none other than Boston Mayor John "Honey Fitz" Fitzgerald, the grandfather of future President John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

Wow!...What a great photo! BSmile - you've outdone yourself! I know I've said this before, but this is for sure one of the real gems of the entire collection.
I was able to do most of the identifications, but everyone please feel free to jump in with any corrections or updates - especially because it's always harder to ID players when they're out of uniform and spiffed up, as is the case here.
