How'd you get the cars to pose like that?

It's in the works but it'll be named the U.S.S. Steinbrenner.

    Miserable day 12:30 PM
Observed that the hole to the right of Gate 2
has been enlarged(7:30 PM).Earlier in the day, 8:45 AM ,a
grapler was pulling plaster out of The Gate.
I stopped and filmed a two minute video of it that was
unremarkable,so I left it on photobucket without placing it
    on YouTube.

First two photos taken at night 7:30 PM:

You would think the rain would encourage the upper deck
to be brought down.Severe lack of dust. But it was cancelled.

This photo ended up overall looking better than I expected for just sticking the camera out the window of the subways stairs. I took this one as I was leaving because I noticed a worker urinating in right center field behind the tractor.

A lot of people were here today, with better cameras
so that+ rain=mood shots for me. There was an artist on the platform who thinks they're
a painter, but I could have done better with the brush held with my toes(not pictured).

All in all, gate 2 can be preserved while its space leased out to sports (or baseball) related retail and the city can collect its taxes & make money too. Has anyone thought of it in that sense?
Call it Stan's Gate 2 New Yankee Stadium. Whaddyasay?

Just got this info--remaining UD sections coming down today, Wed and Thursday. I'll probably go Thurs to see the last sect come down. Gate 2 demo scheduled for next week, possibly Monday. I'll be in Fla but I know that many of you will be present with cameras in hand. Can someone get there with a vidcam {not cell phone video}? I saw the Save Gate 2 article in today's NY Daily News. In my Suffolk County edition it was tucked away in the Queens News section. More conspiracy. When the absolute, final piece comes down we should all be there, like a bunch of the guys did for Shea.
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Yankee Stadium. Here are the lineups for todays game...

Must be a Mets fan! Or maybe it was Lonn Trost?

Was it a female? Because there was a girl artist on the platform Friday, wonder if it was the same person.

How about we chain ourselves to Gate 2 and force the demolition to start in RF................

He's really PISSED OFF about the job because nothing of the Stadium is supposed to be left standing.

I think they're drugged before hand. You usually can't get cars to sit still for a picture.

I bet that isn't the 1st time someone peed in the outfield. Knowing Ruth's and Mantle's drinking histories, I bet it happened more than once.

Gary, the same person. Hope she's not part of the Forum.
Joe,what's really remarkable is that there are port-a-potties all around for their use, couple that with the fact that they know by now there is on average at least 2-5 people taking pictures and video from all angles throughout the day.

    Extra photo from yesterday:

Can we turn back the clock?

Wow. Two more days and the whole upper deck will be gone. I keep saying wow. A while back I wondered why Bloomberg, who I voted for and support, since he still has some Boston carpetbagger history sticking to him (gasp! was he a Red Sox fan?), couldn't make a grand yet relatively inexpensive gesture to his adopted city by picking up the tab on saving gate 2.

Here some of my iPhone pictures from yesterday (3.22.10). I didn't see anyone from baseball-fever there; the weather was terrible and drizzly.

The more I think about it, the happier I am that we bought tickets to go to NYS after the demo of OYS is supposed to be done. Could not imagine actually seeing it down to its last pieces of concrete in person. Would be too gut wrenching....

Any pictures from today? Did another section go wayward?

Two sections should have fallen today. I'm going thurs to see last Tier sect fall. I don't have the link to the DN Gate 2 article. I'm sure it will be on the SaveGate2 site soon. When we do meet for the last wall down, perhaps a toast after that at Stan's? Or the Yankee Tavern? Then we'll follow the dump truck from the site and grab ourselves some souvenirs.

How about having the toast at the Hard Rock, inside NYS?
