    August 7, 2010..

Went to the Yankees vs Red Sux game today, or should I say "yesterday"..
It's interesting that now they have blocked off the walkway on the old 3rd base/left field side.
Yet they now detour you into the middle of what was the playing field of "OYS/RYS"!!!

It's going to be pretty cool to walk onto what was once treasured ground..
I'm looking forward more than ever now, to the grand opening of "Heritage Park".

Should have asked fans what it was like walking through where the field used to be.

Cool Of course we all know the reason behind naming it heritage park . .

Because it is a SALUTE TO THE HERITAGE OF THE AMERICAN SPORT OF BASEBALL. Not that anything of significance previously took place there . . . .
RYS to NYS: "Obi-Lonn never told you what happened to your father."

NYS: "He told me enough. He told me you killed him - in the 1970s!!"

RYS: "No, I am your father..."

NYS: "No, it's not true, that's impossible!!!!"

RYS: "Look beyond my respirator pods and my upper crown; you know it to be true!

Those are great pictures! Thank you for sharing.

Every time I see pictures of this stadium I simply wonder why....Why did they drop the ball on so many levels? All the open air spaces detract from the lower exterior...and that hideous plastic-like top half is an aesthetic abomination. It's embarrassing. Other fans share these sentiments. Season ticket holders aren't renewing because they have so much trouble and it takes them so much time to try and sell their seats.

This stadium is the baseball equivalent of Euro Disney.

Every time I see you post here I simply wonder why....Why do you keep coming back and say the same thing so many times? All the constant Yankee bashing detracts from the entire forum...and that hideous Red Sox love that you fail at hiding is an abomination. It's embarrassing. Other posters share these sentiments. Members are quitting because they have so much trouble and it wastes there time trying to ignore you and watching the fights you start.

And, in case you haven't noticed, Disneyland Paris is doing exceptionally well and is the most visited attraction in Europe.

    That is all.

Yankee fans like us, threeyoda, are the ones who have the last laugh..
That's because we are "happy and content" Yankee fans, who enjoy the new Yankee Stadium..

Let them be miserable in their bitterness. It will get them absolutely nowhere, as NYS is thriving...
I for one am certainly not going to be canceling my season tickets anytime soon. Because I LOVE going to see Yankee games in NYS, and I much, much prefer them in NYS, over RYS..

Bottom line, the bitter "Fake Failure's Club", is in the EXTREME minority, as so many Yankee fans do genuinely love the fabulous NYS..
If they didn't, they'd be selling under one million tickets this season, and beyond..

You could see this path on national television last Friday night when the game was on ESPN during ariel shots from a helicopter. It was lit up at night, leaving me to suspect its purpose was indeed a pathway for the fans access to the new stadium. Look for it on your Tivo if you have it.

If members are quitting because of other posters, then it's their loss. They can just as easily contact a moderator instead of leaving.

As well, it takes two to tango. One person baiting others does not make a fight. The fights begin when the replies start. Don't reply and there's no fight.

    That is all.
    Put it in the books.

If Yankee fans like the new place then that is all that matters.
It is their team's home, they are the ones that pay for the tickets and what the rest of the country thinks is insignificant.

I went to the game last night and walked that walkway over the old place. You can definitely feel that you are walking where the field once was because the walkway declines below street level. It's a very cool feeling.

    Yeah like walking through Woodlawn...
Cleon Jones catches a deep fly ball in F. Scott Fitzgerald's Valley of the Ashes, and a second-grader smiles in front of the black and white television.

    West Side Stadium Forest Hills

Another Stadium in New York City deemed more important than Yankee Stadium and worth saving from demolition.

"The City is mulling a landmarking request to prevent major alterations or demolition"

Although I like this building and do not want to see it demolished. However, was it more important than Yankee Stadium? All we asked was to save a small portion of Yankee Stadium.....Gate 2

If you ever watched the Pride of the Yankees you can see the outside of this building when the cops are escorting Lou to Yankee Stadium on his wedding day.

Also the Beatles played here in 1964 before the famous Shea Stadium show in 1965.

But there was no way to do that, and give the residents back their parkland. I mean, you could have heavily modified the place to MacGyver some kind of massive athletic facility/monument/tower of babel, but I doubt it would have worked out well
