    Ramon Castro

Why is he not the primary catcher? Every time he plays he seems to have some offensive production, and isnt too bad behind the plate either. Schneider can barely hit, and his defense was supposed to be outstanding, but he has so many passed balls this year. Yes he is getting used to the new pitchers but come on now, i say put ramon as the starting catcher. If he played the majority he would have around 20 hrs and 65 rbi's. You guys with me?

He always gets injured. That's why.

They should stick to what they're doing now. Castro doesn't have the stamina to play everyday and Schneider is MUCH better defensively. Look at some of the catchers of WS teams since 1990.

        2007: Jason Varitek .255/.367/.421
        2006: Yadier Molina .216/.274/.321
        2005: AJ Pierzynski .257/.308/.420
        2004: Jason Varitek .296/.390/.482*
        2003: Ivan Rodriguez .297/.369/.474*
        2002: Bengie Molina .245/.274/.322
        2001: Damian Miller .271/.337/.424
        2000: Jorge Posada .287/.417/.527*
        1999: Jorge Posada .245/341/.401
        1998: Jorge Posada .268/.350/.475
        1997: Charles Johnson .250/.347/.454
        1996: Joe Girardi .294/.346/.374
        1995: Javy Lopez .315/.344/.498*
        1993: Pat Borders .254/.285/.371
        1992: Pat Borders .242/.290/.385
        1991: Brian Harper .311/.336/.447*
        1990: Joe Oliver .231/.304/.360

In the past 16 WS, only 5 teams have had a catcher who was above average offensively.

Is Castro really bad defensively? I mean Schneider is great behind the plate, but I was always under the impression that Castro was more than adequate.

He's not very good at throwing out runners. Last year he threw out 3 of 30. This year he's thrown out 4 of 10. He has a bad back which doesn't help.

This offseason he should shed some more weight to get into a 2/3 game series catcher
