Apparently people think Manny will be much happier in LA. I can't hate on this though, it's kinda funny

But Manny will happy here for the 2 1/2 months we have him. I don't see him as a long-term resident after this season's finished.

A bunch of dated provincial stereotypes from watching reruns of Melrose Place, doesnt really provide much insight. All I have learned from your post is that you havent traveled much.

Manny Ramirez didnt need to move to Los Angeles in order to be exposed to beautiful women. Do you think Johnny Damon, Manny, Tom Brady, or any of the Celtics have said to themselves, "Gee, I never am around any beautiful women, perhaps I need to move to Los Angeles".
Thats absurd!
Dont get me wrong, I have lived in Newport Beach and San Diego and love the area. I am even rooting for the Dodgers to win the NL west.(see NY Yankee pages).
I just think that the provincialism gets carried a little too far sometimes. There is a tendency in southern California to portray the rest of the country as a bunch of overweight, pasty, mullet sporting Siberians.
That is simply not the case.
That would be the equivalent of saying everyone in SoCal is a cowboy, a Marine, or a surfer.
Provincialism will get you nowhere!

When he is in SoCal, maybe he will meet some women!
Tom Brady can join him!

Based upon my limited experience, Manny is bummed that he couldn't be traded to the Expos. He also could have insisted on going to the Rangers...both Montreal and Dallas beat LA, to my eye, although I have only had one (extended) trip to LA. If you insist on blondes and redheads, Montreal might not be for you.
:cap:
Manny's #1 residence is in FL, I'm quite sure, and I doubt that he'd ever leave there and its proximity to the DR. His wife, Juliana, is also quite high on the babe-a-licious scale, if you've never seen her. Thing is, I'm not sure if he can remember that he's married if he doesn't see her every hour or so.
Manny - "Hey, baby, what's your name? Who's your daddy? Is he rich like me???"
Juliana - "You're my daddy, dope, that's why I'm in your kitchen frying up platanos."
Manny - "Oooohhh! Platanos!!!! Yummy!!!!!""I throw him four wide ones, then try to pick him off first base." - Preacher Roe on pitching to Musial

I didn't go to Montreal with any expectations, but it quickly became obvious that there were gorgeous babes EVERYWHERE. We didn't have firm plans and stopped in a fleabag hotel that was close to the Jazzfest action, and the clerk there was one of the 5 most beautiful women I had seen in my life up to that point...this was after living in Dallas, a serious "talent" spot. My single friend tried to make small talk with her, but she gave him a quick "Yeah, right..." look and started talking about how buff her boyfriend was. Funny thing was, we decided to go to a "gentlemen's club" later, and couldn't find one!!! Just too clueless...
We did see the Expos there, were dumb enough to scalp premium tickets when we were about 50 yards away from a special ticket office window that sold them (clueless again). The scalper told us they were season tickets only!! My friend and I argued about the roof...he said it was there, I said it wasn't. It wasn't, just the cables were left hanging down. We had a waitress and enjoyed some poutin, the fries/cheese/gravy mess that tastes so good. Terrible game, think they were playing the Marlins and there were about 28 people there. The players clearly just wanted to get it over with. It was extraordinarily easy to get to the park on the Metro, most accessible stadium I've ever seen.
I think that Manny hitting a ton for LA puts the front office in a tight spot...if they don't bring him back, the fans might get mad about not keeping the guy who hit .400 for the team down the stretch. But, the FO is probably going to realize that he's going to be very expensive for an aging ballplayer, and the honeymoon as far as his behavior might be over pretty soon."I throw him four wide ones, then try to pick him off first base." - Preacher Roe on pitching to Musial

manny is happy because he is out of boston, and a chance at another huge payday by yanks after this season.
it didn't matter where he went, he would have been just as happy just to be out of beantown.
