The games are now being played in earnest......

The Dodgers are showing interest in either Bobby Abreu or Adam Dunn and now that the exclusivity of the Dodgers offer to Manny has expired
"Ramirez, 36, headed into free agency hoping for a contract of five or six years. The Dodgers, the only team to acknowledge making a bid for Ramirez, offered him two years and $45 million, then withdrew the proposal when their exclusive negotiating window expired."
it seems that Boras has become active again seeking a longer and higher deal for Manny.
The more I read of Manny and Boras and the demands the more I believe that any contract beyond 2 years would be a disaster because Manny will start playing his games within or towards the end of that contract and would become a similar loose cannon to what he became at the Sox. Maybe I am reading too much into what the media is saying. Perhaps the Dodgers will be better with Dunn or Abreu instead of Manny?

Do the Dodgers have a deadline regarding re-signing Manny? How many suitors does he have?
I wonder if the opinions of Bill Plaschke reflect the feelings on many Dodgers fans?

We don't really care for Bill Plaschke.
At this point, no one is talking about Manny because we all figure he will be back. Boras burned him.

The time must be approaching for a decision to be made. It is rather obvious from this report that it is down to the last two possibilities....Dodgers or Giants.

Is he about to sign or is this another smokescreen??

Now this is a different angle....
.....perhaps he wants to give baseball a miss and start a new career in cricket?? He could probably succeed as a batsman, but fielding without a glove may be tough!Ramirez had agreed to be taught how to play cricket by Australian batsman Matthew Hayden as part of the satellite television provider's promotion of its new CricketTicket service.![]()
