Marlins Park Construction

I wish the Miami Marlins well on their new ball park, but I think the fish in the fish tanks are going to need a lot more luck.

If you're worried about a ball damaging the tank, that can't happen. They already tested it. They had a player stand directly in front and throw as hard as he could and it didn't even come close to damaging the thing.

Not that it could, anyway. As they said during last night's game, there is a plastic wall, then a space between, THEN the tank.

The foreground image aside, it looks like concerns about the home run display being in the batter's eye are overblown.

It looks like they deliberately made sure that the home run display fell outside of the edge of the circle around the pitching mound.

they have 8 more days to get everything right before the

another color BLACK or maybe NOT
they will know more after the first game
they are thinking about adding about 3 feet or more of black
to the back base as part of the batter's eye

I was confused by your post so I checked the Marlins' schedule. A one-game series? I've never seen that in baseball.

the stadium is done, no more constructions
just tests
like that home run thing
can the ballpark hold 37k people and not run out of food,beer,etc
sound system,parking issues,egrees, when to open/close the roof (temp wise not rain)
WIND TEST with the panels open
will the A/C hold the temp to 75 degree with 37k people in the ballpark, and so on

the roof got struck and did not close for the first yankees game,
they found a valve problem and fix it=works fine now
thinks like that.

citi-field was finish on time in 2009 and here we are in 2012 and they are still making changes
remember when the citi-field homerun apple fail to rise up after back to back homeruns

I've spoken to two former Marlins who both agree with me that the new uniforms suck.

Heck, the Blue Jays came around and went back to their old unis...or at least a 95% return to them.

Sun Life Dimensions:

Left field line—330 ft.
Left-center field—361 ft.
Center field—404 ft.
Right-center field—385 ft.
Right field line—345 ft.

Marlins Ballpark Dimensions:

Left field line—340 ft.
Left-center field—384 ft.
Center field—416 ft.
Right-center field—392 ft.

Not sure I like that arrangement. Reminds me of the old cookie cutters with the inner and outer walls.

While I'm tempted to say bring the fences in at Marlins Park to let Mik--err Giancarlo Stanton go at 'em, the other part of me says let a pitchers park be a pitcher's park.
