I would love to post my Hitters and Pitchers of the Night in the Cal Ripken Sr. League, but alas, the league has not posted current boxscores in several days. All is not lost though, since one of my newest additions to this blog is my Top Three Hitters feature. The following three are ranked purely on batting average. As the season progresses, I will include more Top Three lists. On a side note, since the Cal Ripken Sr. Leagues season is still young, I have made this list on players that have had a minimum of just 10 at-bats. (picture is courtesy of msathletics.com)

    Luke Adkins (Mississippi State--Bethesda) .700 (7 for 10), 2 runs, 7 rbi's (leads league), 2 db's, 1 triple
    Joseph Leonard (Pitt--Youse's Orioles) .538 (7 for 13), 4 runs, 3 rbi's, 1 double
    Eli Boike (Michigan State--Bethesda) .385 (5 for 13), 3 runs, 3 rbi's, 2 doubles

Tell me a little about this Prospect League if you would. I live in Cincy, OH and i have become aware of it because i am a Frontier League fan and i know Chillicothe left the FL for this Prospect League. This is a collegiate summer wooden bat league, no?

What teams would be closest to me and what are the coolest ballparks in the league?

    G Man

I am not from Ohio, so I am not sure which teams are near you, but the Prospect League is a collegiate wood bat league. There are some pretty good, young prospects in the league. I would say that the Prospect League is in the top 10 of college baseball summer leagues. They are growing, which is nice as well.

Just looking at a few teams...

Mat Scioscia Mike;s son playing for the Cornjo Oaks in the Cal. League

And I wonder if Bobby Buckner (from Idaho) is Billy Buck's son?

And I am sure there are many others but it takes time to go thru the rosters and then double check the research.
