I guess the guys went through some situational hitting drills in camp the past day or two. Putting on a show was Ken Griffey Jr. from all reports. What I've heard is Jr. has done more of that (situational hitting) the last few years which is good, because we need a team approach to this offense. Get them on. Get them over and Get them in.
Wak will approaching Yuniesky Betancourt and see how the youngster feels about hitting in the two hole. Wak would like to see Yuni develop like Jose Lopez has at the plate. At the end of last year, the skipper moved Yuni into the two hole and Yuni actually did pretty good.
I know Ryan Rowland Smith wants to start but who will be the situational lefty out of the pen ? We have Wash, and Bedard going from that side at least until one or both of them are dealt somewhere. We'll see how it all shakes out in the coming weeks.
