Lets hope the don't drop the ball, er, apple on this idea. Ugly or not, it's history and should be showcased somewhere.

Dear New York Mets, What will you do with the current Home Run Apple from Shea Stadium when Shea is demolished? Would it be possible to leave it up near the entrance to Citi Field as some sort of monument to Shea? That would be a very nice way to remember Shea. Thanks for your time, Mike XXXXXXXXX.

And I got this reply today:

We fully intend to have a new home run apple at Citi Field and are exploring a number of potential options as to its design and use in game.

As for the current home run apple, we are considering various possibilities to have it on display for our fans at Citi Field. We have not made any definitive plans as yet, and are interested in hearing from our fans about their ideas.

    Sounds pretty hopeful to me...
    whod you email?

what else would they use it for? The apple should just come up for homeruns and maybe during the celebration after the last out of a game. No need for overkill.

And since they have no plans or design yet for the new one, maybe we could start up a discusion(in it's own thread so we don't hijack this even more) about what we as Mets fans would like it to be. We could gather up the suggestions and maybe someone with good graphics or model building skills could make up a design to send in to the Mets. They did say they want our input. The apple really belongs to the fans and I see no better way to bring in a new one then to have the fans design it.

    Citi Field Seating/Ticket Pricing

I'm full season in Upper Reserved 2; Row A in Shea.

Was relocated to Promenade Reserved Infield 515; Row 1.
    $2025 per seat. $25 a seat times 81 games.

I put down a 10% deposit of $405 with the rest due in Oct/ Nov.

I'm happy with the location and price.

Also...did they specifically say "$25/seat/game" or did you just do the math? Just curious if the tiered pricing system is going away....

  7. #147
I didn't ask about any other pricing.
I just called my rep and left a message because you got me curious.

I've been a Sunday plan holder for 4 years in UB, UR and Mezz Reserved. (Moved around.)

Upgraded this year to full in UR 2. Was lucky to call in when someone moved down and these became available.

I don't know if tiered is going away. I'll also ask and post back.

Wow....I guess Ill be in good shape too...This is my first year with an account period. I called right at the end of last year and they put me in Sec 25. I guess they fill up the seats that no one had, then wait to see whos not renewing, and then fill those up. I kept calling and like a month before the season I was able to get moved...that may have been HUGE for me if they are doing it strictly by location and not by tenure(if maybe not the fairest)...

Anyway, even if the OF is cheaper you cant give up those seats!?!...Are you nuts?!?..You have the best cheap seats in a brand new $800 Mil stadium where the next cheapest seat is like $75...No way you cant get $40 for any ticket you dont use next year....good job...

You live in BRICK with season tickets?!?....

What time do you get home from night games? 1:30-2am?

  11. #151
Yes. I'm extremely happy to have these seats.
It's also one of the few placest in Citi where a row 1 does not cost more.
By the way, my e-mail is yakc117@gmail.com

I remember the rep telling me they just started with Uppers so perhaps that's why your rep didn't know. Since it seems to be going by location, you probably will get the call extremely soon.

Also, the rep said there has been no policy yet about partial plan holders. He figures sometime in Oct/ Nov after full season holders have either paid in full or not and then they can see an acurate inventory.

I get home extremely late. More towards 12:30 - 1:00 AM. There is absolutely no traffic after I hit Staten Island.

I work in the Freehold area so I'm a bit closer to Shea on the way in.

    Wow, that's pretty great, congratulations.

Still waiting for my call. Field 129 now, who knows what they'll sock me with.

Wow. So promenade reserved infield only costs $25/game? I wonder if that's just the season ticket price or if that's the individual game price too. I don't think the Mets give season ticket/plan discounts now (someone can correct me if I'm wrong), but I know other teams do.

Any word on how much the non-infield promenade reserved seats cost?

Just spoke to a rep that said it could be 2-3 weeks before others get a call, they're going in no set order, location or otherwise, just depends on when the particular rep has your file and gets to your name.

He also said that all the full season ticket holders have already been assigned particular seats.

Also, the August 1st 10% deadline is flexible. The folks who got called already have that as a deadline, but since people like me haven't been called yet we'll have maybe September 1st or later.

He did infer that the November deadline is pretty rigid. Although I know this is a new stadium and all that, in years past they've given me sometimes up until the end of Feb. to get my final payment in, but they may only extend that courtesy to longer season tix holders, and that may be out the window in the new world of Citi, but who knows.

    Anyway, I'm still waiting patiently.

I am happy for you. You are only paying $5 more a game than what the CBP prices are.
I would expect the promenade outfield seats will be $20 for a STH
The mets will continue the five tier pricing structure Here is my guess for promendade infield
    $15 $20 $30 $35 $40
Again congrats to the mets fan.
Here is a pic that might be your section

Is this just speculation on your part or is that confirmed?

A nice idea would be to have a price for regular games and a higher price for premium games Yanks, cubs phils.
However that will eliminate the $5 tickets.
    We will see

Great job - great location on your tickets. Congrats!
Took this picture on my walk last Tuesday from the front row of your section. I may be half a section over to the right, but close enough. Great view, and I can only echo the other posts about your location - Tunnel and not stairs! Gonna have to keep your email for tickets next year!
