They'd be smart just to open it up to everyone.

Agreed. I think of it more as a nice concession stand, with protection from the elements. I would not use it if I needed to pay $10 per game extra.

I also think that they could use some of the prom food court for the shake shack/blue smoke food. (or maybe even inside the prom club) Just Close the concessions stands that just sell exactly the same as the rest of the stands (i.e Nathan's, Carvel) and open up another Shake shack. This reduces the bottlenecks headed from the prom to center field.

No more parking at the Marina?

    Ouch.
Not quibbling with your general point, but even after taking 3 of 4, Arizona is still 1 of 5 NL teams with the honor being behind the Mets, along with Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, San Diego and Washington.

Crowd actually got briefly loud tonight, which was nice to see.

I haven't had the Shake Shack fries, because frozen fries don't appeal to me when Box Frites is right around the corner, but I tried the Bayside Fries at COTD for the first time today. They were ok, but to my taste very oversalted, and not nearly in the class of the Box Frites. The cheese sauce was pretty tasty. They certainly weren't bad, to be clear, just not as good as the Frites.

Had a Shrimp po boy as well, which I've had before, and far prefer to the lobster roll there. It's expensive, but good-sized, and the bread is good, which is hugely important to me.

Overall, probably the best meal I've had at COTD.

I noticed section 421 was completely empty Monday night. The sections on either side were, if not full, normally occupied... so what's the deal?

Gerardo Parra, a lefthand batter, steps in to lead off. Harvey's first pitch on the way, it's a fastball on the inside corner for a called strike, nothing and one, a 93-mile per hour fastball to Gerardo Parra. Parra batting at .281 with 6 homers, 28 runs batted in. - Howie Rose's call of Matt Harvey's very first pitch in the big leagues... Mets at Arizona, July 26, 2012

Frozen fries? What do you mean?

The fries at Shake Shack happen to be very good.

Frozen and reheated as opposed to freshly prepared.

    Oh. How do you know?

Even so, just because they were frozen doesn't make them bad. I'd rank them behind the frites, but probably ahead of all other fries I've had at Citi.

I'm sorry, but requiring that you buy a "gift card" when you buy tickets is wrong, wrong, wrong.

  10. #25360
I know it's a cop-out answer, but it's just common knowledge among Shake Shack 'fans' that the fries are frozen. It's not something they flaunt in their press releases, but it's definitely true. I'm sure they're tasty; I just have no interest because I prefer the fresh Frites. To each their own.

On a related note, I went to a Marlins vs Cubs at Dolphin Stadium (Jimmy buffet can kiss my butt) game this past Friday. It was my first baseball game since going to 3 at Citi in june. I was instantly depressed because I hadnt eaten and was in no way excited for any of their horrendous offerings. The food they offer is horrible. My friend was starving and bought the chicken tender platter, which now apparently doesnt even come with Fries, it comes with POTATO CHIPS thrown into the basket...I tried one, they were atrocious. I had a free ticket for 4 hot dogs, the hot dog was awful and tasted like they got them from costco, way to thick with a sesame seed bun!?!?!? awful. just awful. I missed Shake Shack, Blue Smoke and even Nathans...

Those Bridge Terrace seats just might be my favorite in CF or YS, but what is the story about that Mets Money???

Now, they don't usually if ever have these tickets on mets.com even though they are listed in the price grid. And I just checked stubhub and I did not see a single ticket in the terrace, and I checked up to the 8/16 game.

Can you tell us how you purchased these and how did the $25 come up?
I happened to get the seats through an old client of mine. He has bought them as group sale of 25 seats or so a couple of times this year. He said that in order to the buy the seats the mets require that you also purchase $25 in mets money for each seat. He said in the beginning of the year it was actual phony money and that later in the year it changed to gift cards.

Holding back better seats for a hopeful late FST season sale... There is no reason that 421 should be empty when Prom Club sections further down the line are occupied....

It's not the first time I've seen better sections empty when sections down the line were occupied. I've seen it at Citi, Shea, Yankee (renovated and new)....

Either that or a bunch of buses for a group sale broke down on the way to the game.

    Cheers!

This is a (very) quick shout-out: who can use a pair of tix in CCLUB Section 332 Row 3 tonight? My deal for getting rid of them just fell through and I don't feel like hawking outside the ballpark for a game I'm not going to myself.

PM me with any and all offers, even if it's to say you want the pair for free, I will pick the one I like best (not necessarily highest bidder if you have a good story) and do an e-transfer to the recipient (include your email in the PM). All you have to do is pay for the transfer and they're yours. If you are offering money I will reply with a PM with my email for you to send via PayPal, or if you prefer, to mail me a check.

(Hope this post isn't against board rules?)
Wow some generous people here. I wish I would have seen this yesterday

In 3 games at Citi Field, Mark Reynolds hit as many home runs as David Wright has hit in 52 games. 52 games! I guess Reynolds didn't get the memo that it's impossible to hit a home run at Citi Field.

Sounds excellent, without cheese. Can they just take out cheese on that?

SS fries are mediocre. Nathans fries blow em away.

There were some bombs hit at Citi last night. One cleared the bridge. Figgie looked like he was throwing BP.

i dunno if it has been posted yet but for anyone who needed a 'virtual map' before heading out to CF (maybe a first time visitor) the mets have a citi field fan map on the webpage...here is the link for it http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/nym/ball...fieldlevel.jsp

gives an in depth look at concessions and gift shops etc. one thing that struck me was NO MENTION OF A METS MUSEUM OR HOF!!! are they waiting untill next year b/c if so they should say so and not keep us waiting like a dog begging at the dinner table
LETS GO METS, JETS, AND KNICKS!!!!
we're METS FANS, what ever happened to YA GOTTA BELIEVE!

I keep forgetting to ask this: does anybody know what they're building in the area between the 47 store and the World's Fare Market?
