    Fantastic photos.
NYS kinda makes the new meadowlands look like crap.
Happy new year to everyone at bbf.

the American flags look much better going around the frieze than those bland/lame World Championship flags they had last year...hope they keep with it

    Thank you, everyone...

    1. NYFAN1stYANKFAN2nd, I use a simple Sony Cybershot DSC-TX1 pocket camera. It's more than enough for me as I don't like carrying a camera over my neck. I'd rather keep it in my pants pocket, so I can concentrate on watching the game. Though I could just imagine the photos I could take if I upgraded to a decent camera! lol

    2. Anubis2051, good question. I don't know because I didn't realize the change until I was inside the museum, that they installed the new wall windows. Once the game was over, Monument, my other friends and myself went straight to the parking garage to head home. But I'm very curious myself, about the outside appearance of that section of NYS, where the museum is located. I'll have to check that out on my next trip to NYS..

    3. Mandrake, thanks, and you're right about that unsportsmanlike call, on that late 4th quarter touchdown from Kansas State! When we saw the replay on the giant jumbo tron. Monument and myself were puzzled by the penalty!
I'm not sure about the clubs, but I can tell you that the Malibu Terrace Club was closed during the entire event.

    4. Mattinglyfan85MVP, I agree. The frieze looked much nicer with all those beautiful American flags posted on top of it. I really hope they go back to the division race flags, or the American flags, than those white, hard to read championship flags.

    5. Thank you, dabigyankeeman & peterrod16. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos..

    6. Last but certainly not least.. Thank you, Rob R!!! We have to hook up for a beer during the 2011 season..

the layout reminds me of the old multi's with the 50yd. line seats the furthest from the field.

What an AMAZING game last night I sat in my season ticket section of 237 and they turned out to be pretty decent seats. If anyone notices from these pictures, the railing of the second deck is covered in BLUE, NOT SILVER. A lot of people on here wanted to see that as a change to the new stadium.

The Team flags were the best, they looked good, and were useful as well! There were more than a few times this year I wish they had kept them up there

Are you sure? Doesn't look that way in the pictures:

DN4L, great photos. I watched the game on TV at a bar, so I couldn't really concentrate too much on how the stadium looked. I did notice the blue on the railings, but I'm not sure I see it through the photos posted above. I guess we'll have to wait until the spring to get a definite answer on that.

Lastly, the frieze and lights looks so much better when those two small sections are turned on. It really does make a difference.

I agree. Personally, I feel the Yankee Museum is WAY better than Monument Park.

Thanks for sharing those pics DN4L! Those were really great shots you took. I would love to see 1 or 2 NY football Giants played here also. It probably be a logistics nightmare for NY Giants season ticket holders being that Yankee Stadium holds about 53,000 maxed out and the Meadowlands holds 82,500. I wonder how many Giant season ticket holders there are.

The stadium looks great! And it's looking even better everytime I see it. Happy new year everyone. May you and yours be safe and well and may 2011 be a great year for everyone. AND MAY IT BRING ANOTHER WORLD SERIES TITLE TO THE NY YANKEES!!! 2010 was a tough year for my family, but I'm looking forward to a better 2011!!

    God bless!!

Those look very temporary though (look at the pinstripe bowl logo on them). I hope they're not though, it looks so much better. I would love to see the whole ballpark done like that, it makes the place seem so much less sterile.

That collectors item would always have to stay in a freezer!
RYS to NYS: "Obi-Lonn never told you what happened to your father."

NYS: "He told me enough. He told me you killed him - in the 1970s!!"

RYS: "No, I am your father..."

NYS: "No, it's not true, that's impossible!!!!"

Monument Park need not be the size of Arlington Cemetery in order to get the message across (but the Steinbrenner tribute is way too big !)
I think it suffers (fatally) from the looming, massive overhang - it seems crammed in, like an after-thought. The size is fine, it's the location/layout relative to the ballpark. (And yeah, the Boss is insanely, embarassingly big - but the owners control the marketing, eh?)

It's hard to see in DN's photos, but there are Championship banners on the facing of the luxury suites level. They go from behind the plate down both lines, not quite out to the foul poles. Anybody know if they were there during the '10 BB season?
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Yankee Stadium. Here are the lineups for todays game...

That's pretty much how I feel about it. And with the netting over it, it looks eerie and spooky.

It's not the size that's the issue, but the overall design and placement. And with that netting, it looks like some kind of Halloween setting. See Straw's response; he pretty much nailed it.

Happy New Year! My 2011 Yankee Stadium Wish List:

    1. Finish adding the blue fencing on all levels to replace the silver on all levels
    2. Replace the championship flags with the individual team flags again
    3. Put the championship years back in right field
    4. Paint the sides of the sports bar blue
    5. Bring another trophy home to the Bronx!

The railings look like they were not painted, but covered a in blue tarp with the PB logo on them. BTW - if they ever do paint the railing I hope they prime them first . . . the blue paint on the railings above the Batter's Eye seats was getting scratched off a few months into the 2009 season and looked bad close up.

Another BTW - the windows in the Museum were always there, they were "covered" by raisable white shades. The windows were covered to prevent UV light from fading the items in the exhibits.
