    Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium

Ok I have searched for a thread for Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium Photos and I could not find one so I thought there should be a Thread for the Former home of the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons.

Question: What was the normal function of the scoreboard that said "715" after Aaron's homer? Seems like it's completely black in the shot before the homer.

I think it was a message board

Makes sense - doesn't look like it was specifically designed for any type of score (either a line score, football score, or out-of-town scores), so that seems most likely.

It was indeed a message board.

The old field level scoreboard at AFCS was divided into four main parts, a message board and an American League out-of-town board in left field and a game in progress board and NL out-of-town board in right. Interspersed were ads and a Longines clock. All were behind a 6" high screen that served as the outfield fence.

Wow, I had forgotten that the Braves used to wear this very classy-looking uniform! Wish they would do a throwback version of this.

I remember someone telling me that Fulton was built to where a third deck could have been added. Anyone have any info or pics of that?

It was Centennial Olympic Stadium that was used for the 1996 Atlanta Summer Games. After the Olympics the stadium was given to Ted Turner who then converted the stadium to baseball for the Braves.
