    1972 Season Thread

--Welcome to the 12th season of CKL baseball. A series will be played everyday - or most days anyway. After each series game results, standing and injury reports will be posted. Team batting and pitching reports and league batting and pitching leaders will alternate every other series. The first team reports will go up after the second series and first leaderboards after the third. League schedule attached. Play Ball!

I see the River Rats on my schedule. But don't they have a new name now?

Looks like you did some work with the schedule, Mark. I knew you must have since the season ended mid-October in all my sims, rather than early November. Looks good.

I must have gotten an old file in there. Replaced it with current schedule.

Don't sell your pitchers short, EB. They got those shutouts on the road in the hitter friendly confines of Comiskey.

... which is where I wanted to move before Jack took it.

Carlton, Lolich, and Blass are still all awesome (especially Carlton). And Pattin is pretty good too.

---Two series in and the Angels and Thunder remain undefeated. The Knights are also perfect at 0-6. The Dust Bunnies are also 0-6- although there are probably not quite as satisfied with that mark.

Wow, Doug Rader is just blistering the ball. A .500 average and 4 HR already. And I'm happy to jump out to good early start for once. Of course the Legends are still right on my tail.

As good as Rader is doing, Johnny Briggs is doing better.

    .591/.600/1.273 (1.873 OPS), 5 HR.
