Walter Alston's batting average is zero, and George Davis' ERA is 15.75
Mythical SF Chronicle scouting report: "That Jeff runs like a deer. Unfortunately, he also hits AND throws like one." I am Venus DeMilo - NO ARM! I can play like a big leaguer, I can field like Luzinski, run like Lombardi. The secret to managing is keeping the ones who hate you away from the undecided ones. I am a triumph of quantity over quality. I'm almost useful, every village needs an idiot.

Thanks for both the humorous answer and the answer I was looking for. Much appreciated!

Do you know the highest ERA for a pitcher elected as a pitcher?

At least Wes Farrell has his bat.

The player with the most reasonable HOF case with a most low BA is Darrell Evans.

And he pitched in a much higher offensive era than Morris did.

Pitching in a DH league adds about half a run to a pitcher's ERA, if I recall correctly.
Eradicate, wipe out and abolish redundancy.

Free El Duque! -- discover how the HOF rules are cheating this renowned member of Torre's Yankees dynasty and ask the HOF to include him on the ballot for the next BBWAA election.

Learn something every day. I would have guessed Harmon Killebrew but he compiled .256.
