    Baseball's "List"

So I was watching the Dodgers vs. Braves game on ESPN and the announcers were talking about the 7 guys who's names have been released from the list of 104 players who tested positive for PEDs in '03.

What do you all think of this list and the guys on it? Personally, I think MLB is to blame because they didn't destroy the info. Joe Morgan said during the game that whoever didn't delete the info on these guys should be fired because they were told that the names wouldn't be released.
If you don't think too good, don't think too much.

I know my views will set of a fire storm...but this is what I believe

I agree with Joe...but am 1) glad that the names are out....and 2) think that ALL the names should be released.

    Here are my reasons...

    1) I am a huge Giants fan, and have always felt that Barry was not the only one who ised PED's. The more stars/player that join the list, the less of a punk Barry becomes to the rest of the fans and more of a person that was caught up in the fad of the era.

    2) it is not fair for just a few stars (Manny, Ortiz, A-Rod) to take the heat while 120 some others do not. Once the first name leaked...the rest should be too

I don't think multiple wrongs make anything right.

I think the people (government officials, lawyers, investigators ... y'know 'protectors of the law') responsible for "leaking" the info should be prosecuted, as should those profited from publishing classified information (not sure if the latter is possible).

If MLB ever needs the MLBPA's partnership in anything important again ... forget it ... and who could blame them.

I hate all of the steroid issue stuff, but releasing more names just to make the others feel better is not the solution.

    This whole situation sucks.

Either release all the names on the list at once, or burn the list. This has been like taking off a band-aid. Just yank the sucker off and get the pain over with. Prolonging it serves no good purpose.

The "list" plus the promise to keep it secret is the best idea anyone could come up with. Imagine you commit a crime and confess, but the police promises not to tell anyone. If I was using steroids, I would insist to get tested first under these circumstances.

I heard a quote from one of the redsox players who said that before 2003 nobody thought twice about what they were taking. I feel it's cheating but it was probably more wide spread than is out there.
