According to the Tigers program of 1972, the team was all set to go forward with a domed stadium in downtown that would house the Tigers and Lions. Does anyone have any additional information on this never built stadium?

Given that the stadium would have had 8400 more seats for football than baseball, I presume the setup would have been more like the Kingdome than the Astrodome
I'm so glad this wasn't built.
They built it in Tokyo as the Tokyo dome instead

Doc, if not right on the site of the current Joe Louis Arena, maybe just a little down river (west) and closer to the river. This could be on the site of what is now the Riverfront Apartments.
