Big news:
They lost Beau Vaughan to the Rule 5 Draft. Woo.

I'd also like to report that after this offseason, I am retiring from reporting the daily team by team transactions (and the Baseball Fever community breathes a collective sigh of relief). It takes far too long to do.

http://www.rotoworld.com/content/pla...=280833&spln=1The Rangers and RHP Dustin Nippert avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $650,000 contract.
A "Super Two" player, the 28-year-old right-hander was eligible for arbitration for the first time. Nippert was slowed by shoulder and rib cage injuries to start last season, but posted a 3.88 ERA in 20 games (10 starts) after coming off the disabled list in July, including a 1.86 ERA out of the bullpen.
They signed Lewis to a two-year deal.

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...=.jsp&c_id=mlbNEW YORK -- Looking to replenish their outfield depth, the Yankees acquired Greg Golson on Tuesday from the Rangers in exchange for a Minor Leaguer.
In what general manager Brian Cashman termed a "minor move," the Yankees agreed to part with infielder Mitch Hilligoss in exchange for Golson, a 24-year-old who batted .258 with 40 RBIs in 123 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2009.

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...=.jsp&c_id=mlbMILWAUKEE -- The Brewers added another left-handed bat to the roster Wednesday by claiming the versatile Joe Inglett off waivers from the Rangers.
Inglett, 31, has appeared in the Majors with the Indians and Blue Jays and can play just about anywhere on the diamond. He saw most of his Major League action at second base in 2008 as a fill-in for the injured Aaron Hill and batted .297 that season. In 2009, Inglett logged 99 Major League plate appearances for Toronto and batted .281 with a .347 on-base percentage.
http://www.bizofbaseball.com/index.p...des&Itemid=153The Associated Press reports that RHP Scott Feldman and the Texas Rangers reached a one-year, $2.245 million settlement. He went 17-8 with a 4.08 ERA. He had been asking $2.9 million while the Rangers offered $2.05 million. The $2.455 million deal is $50,000 under the $2.475 million midpoint. Feldman represented the final player in salary arbitration for the Rangers. Frank Francisco was the other player to have exchanged figures for the club, while Esteban German, Josh Hamilton, Chris Ray, Brandon McCarthy, Dustin Nippert, and C.J. Wilson settled before figures were exchanged.
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/Australian catcher Guy Edmonds has signed with the Texas Rangers, according to Christian Nicolussi of The Daily Telegraph. Nicolussi writes that the 16-year-old has the potential to outperform the country's greatest baseball export, Dave Nilsson.
http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/354131...s-player_news/Rangers signed OF Endy Chavez to a minor league contract with a $1.25 million club option for 2011.
Chavez will earn $1 million if he makes the major league roster this season. He underwent right knee surgery last July and hit just .273/.328/.342 last year in the 182 plate appearances he was healthy for, but he's always been a solid defender and he still boasts some speed on the basepaths. That said, the 32-year-old Chavez shouldn't register on most fantasy radars.
The Rangers signed Jae Kuk Ryu.

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...=.jsp&c_id=mlbSURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Rangers have added infielder Marcus Lemon to their Spring Training roster, replacing Khalil Greene.
The Rangers were informed on Sunday that Greene will not be reporting this week because he is dealing with social anxiety disorder, an issue that put him on the disabled list twice last year while with the Cardinals.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/26/sp...fs-khalil.htmlInfielder Khalil Greene’s contract was voided by the Texas Rangers. They said it was for a private matter, which they did not disclose, and not the social anxiety that led Greene to miss 46 games for the St. Louis Cardinals last season in two stints on the disabled list. Texas agreed to a one-year, $750,000 contract with Greene, 30, on Jan. 21.
http://rangersblog.dallasnews.com/ar...-bankston.htmlThe Rangers have signed infielder Wes Bankston to a minor league contract. Born in Dallas, Bankston starred at Plano East High School in both baseball and football. He was committed to the University of Texas before he was selected in the fourth round (104th overall) of the 2002 June draft by Tampa Bay.

Ramirez, 28, has been added to the team's 40-man roster. He will wear jersey number 23.
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...1a6eb7d35.htmlThe battle for the utility infielder spot has a new candidate. The Rangers claimed infielder Hernan Iribarren off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers.
To make room for Iribarren on the roster, the club put Eric Hurley on the 60-day disabled list. Iribarren is out of minor league options.
