Been a while since I updated this thread - sorry all.

Ben took the loss in his last outing on Saturday, he is now 2-7.

His line was pretty typical for him this season: 7IP, 6H, 4ER, 4BB, 2K.

    Season totals: 4.95 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 61 K's in 87 IP.

Sheets took the loss in his last outing, he's now 3-8.

    Season totals:

    78K, 40BB, 4.89 ERA, 1.44 WHIP

Rumor has it that the Phillies, Mets & Rangers all had scouts watching him at the last game he threw. Thank God, will someone please take him off our hands?

    Signed,

Yep. Looks like Texas is out with them taking Lee off the M's hands. I think Sheets to the Rockies for Dexter Fowler or Ian Stewart would be a fair deal.

Since he hasn't regained his all-star form, is anyone interested in re-signing him to another 1 year contract? The surprising thing for me abt him is that he's been able to remain healthy and he's pitched 6+ innings in the majority of his starts. Plus, imo he hasn't been horrible of late. It also wud help if he had some run support; his record wud look half way decent.

Ben Sheets is back, but with the Atlanta Braves! He pitched 6 scoreless innings for them to get a win.

On July 12, the Braves announced that they had called Sheets up from the minors. Sheets made his first start in nearly two years on July 15 against the New York Mets. He pitched 6 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out five to earn the win. UNQUOTE

Yeah he threw a good game. Dude got tore up in AAA ball a few weeks ago so we'll see how it goes with him....

Sometimes pitchers just work on "mechanics" when they rehab in the minors. Maybe that would explain his bad showing there.
Mr. Sheets has already won 3 games in 3 starts for the Braves and posted a 0.50 ERA

It looks like the Braves pull him after 6 innings though to not risk another injury.

Ben Sheets has retired... Probably the best case scenario for him at this point!
