Congratulations to the Negro Leagues' pitching standout, Smokey Joe Williams for winning our 17th Greatest Pitcher Poll! He scored 58 points from our 19 voters, including 8 first place votes. The screw-balling Giants' star, Carl Hubbell piled up 50 points for second place, picking up 2 first place votes for himself along the way.
The following chase pack consisted of Sandy Koufax, my childhood idol, who collected 39 points and 4 first places. Three-Fingered Brown, the Cubs' legendary twirler after the turn-of-the-century came next with our voters, with 34 points and 2 first places.
