I removed the following from my Single Ballot Hall of Fame:

Charlie Bennett - I fell into the Charlie Bennett groupthink that has permeated this site before. I really don't see a huge case for the guy.

Vida Blue - He was one of the early non-Hall of Fame pitchers I supported, so I kept him on my ballot because I didn't want to second-guess my initial intuition. But if I don't have Orel Hershiser, Bob Welch or Milt Pappas in my Hall - which I don't - then I don't think I should have Blue in.
Changes made. No one went in or out of either Hall.

Fun fact: There are currently four players who are one vote shy of reaching 75% (Carey, Grich, Hernandez, and Torre) and five players who are one vote shy of falling below 75% (Hill, Kelley, Puckett, Rose, Wallace).

Add Vida Blue and Dennis Martinez to my list.

I've been mulling them both over for a few months and I think they each pass muster.

    Got it.

Thanks for the ballot, Herr! That brings us up to 32.

After the latest update, four players have joined the Hall of Fame here (or rejoined, since all of them have been in before): Max Carey, Bobby Grich, Keith Hernandez, and Joe Torre. One player has dropped out: poor Pete Hill.

Sorry it took so long! Got backed up a bit. That sounded like a laxative commercial...

Sorry to you too, Pete. My bad.

No, you haven't voted on Negro Leaguers, so you don't yet have a vote either for or against Hill. In any case, no single voter can put a player in or out of the Hall here.

I got your PM about my idiot arse forgetting both Hubbell and Lyons! Please add them to my totals. I went back up to my list and added them to the group. I am also working on my Negro League and contributors sections. Any advice on how to tackle these numerous behind the scenes contributors? I have a good idea about the famous and/or Cardinal guys, it is just all the others that worked behind the scenes for all the other teams I am lacking in. Also, I am planning a trip to the Negro League Hall of Fame in KC this summer, so that may help, but I was wondering on the NL contributors as well. Any advice there, or is that usually omitted?

Thanks for your work putting this together! Sorry about that oversight! I spent far too long on the hitters, and kinda blew through my pitchers so I could finally get you this list!

I answered your PM and will include Hubbell and Lyons. As for Negro Leaguers, my solution was simply to vote for any who had already been elected to the actual HOF, since there is little data to rank them by. Negro League contributors are included on most contributor ballots so far.

My musings thread, http://www.baseball-fever.com/showth...ight-s-musings has lots of pieces on contributors, Negro League and otherwise, and on Negro Leaguers.
