Thread: The Doc

    The Doc

Jays fan here and huge Halladay fan. Just wanted to pop in and say I've been watching the games he has been completely dominant. It's also nice to see that he is receiving run support which he sorely lacked at times in TO. Here's to the 2010 Phillies in hopes that Roy finally gets the ring he deserves!!!

We saw him pitch here in Atlanta and it was pretty amazing. When they took Hudson out in the 6th he had close to 100 pitches and Halladay was around 60.

Well, I figured he'd be dominant in the NL in any division. He was facing the yanks and sox regularly over here and beating them. All due respect, he makes it pretty easy to forget about Lee, yeah?

He sure does, but the 4 days between his starts really make us miss Lee. . .

If Happ and Blanton come back healthy, I don't think those other four days will be so bad. If one or (worse yet) both continue to struggle with injuries, it could well have been a tough season even with Cliff.

Cliff Lee has pitched one game this year.....Doc has the potential to win 25 games regardless of how much rest he takes between starts.

I agree, I'm just talking about the current situation. I still think Hamels is going to be good this year.

Well, if Lidge is able to be a decent closer, that will go a long way toward fixing that problem. A return to form by Romero would also be a big help. Madson will be back later, and, continuing the positive scenario, things would be pretty solid then. However, if even Romero isn't right, that causes problems. However, if the closer spot is solid, they should be able to come up with a trading deadline fix. The real issue is whether the closer spot will be around Billy Wagner levels (Lidge 2008 isn't likely to recur, but Billy Wagner levels would be miles better than Lidge 2009) or closer to the hapless situation we've had since the beginning of the 2009 season. If it's the latter, that could be a tough problem to fix--and it would be a big problem.
