Nice to see the Legends pitchers are holding up their end. Too bad the hitters are missing in action. I would guess my team OPS+ is around, oh, 70 or so.

--Almost a quarter of the way in and things are looking pretty much as projected. The Iron are giving the Spikes a litttle tougher run than I would have thought. The Skipjacks and Thunderhave a really good race going. The Cartwright remains a muddle, back to everybody below .500.
The following DB are available. They are listed in alphabetical order.

19-8 in our last 27 games and we're still six games back, right where we were before. I hate being in the Johnson Division.
EDIT: Evans being on the block reminds me of something: Did we ever specify how we'd deal with traded franchise players drafted after 1961? Originally it was that they would continue to get a 250K raise each year, but I doubt we're still going with that.

At least you're much closer to the Wild Card than you were before. But things go in cycles. Last year the Robinson was the dominant league. This season, 4 of the 5 best teams are in the Ruth and the Ruth has the better record in IL play.
Just for fun, here's the All-Time W-L% of the teams in each division.
Johnson - 50.9% (1 team over .500, 3 CKL titles)
Cartwright - 52.0% (1 team over .500, 3 CKL titles)
Hulbert - 52.1% (3 teams over .500, 6 CKL titles)
Chadwick - 48.2% (1 team over .500, 2 CKL titles - one won by a former owner)
Remove Demery from the rotation, leaving me with a four man rotation.

DL Lange, promote Greif. Give Greif Langes duties.

There are 10 kinds of people. Those who get binary and those who don't.
--We have 10 teams with 20 or more wins now, but none of them are in the Cartwright. The Beavers are on a 5 game skid that has allowed the Hard Cider to back into a tie for the lead. Both teams are a sterling 19-23.
Can you repost the team batting and team pitching reports, Mark? The ones above are as of 5/8.
The Diablos will recall Reggie Smith off the DL, and place George Hendrick on the DL. Mark, I'll send you a new MP for them later today with new lineups.
The web site stats will be updated in about 20 minutes, if that helps.
WOO HOO!! Fergie finally got this third win of the year, making him the all time wins leader now in CKL history. One of the few bright spots in a dismal Legends season.

Also, with the season now one quarter finished and it appearing that the Legends are not going to recover any time soon, the following players are available in trade:
Willie McCovey - 129 OPS+, salary 7.5M, one year deal expiring after 1975. Could really help a contender, either at first or DH.
Adrian Garrett - 115 OPS+ in 146PA. Plays first base and RF. 250K, free agent after this year.
Mike Cuellar - 97 ERA+, 1.22 WHIP, 256 IP. Salary a very reasonable 2.5M, FA after this season.
Clay Carroll - 138 ERA+, 1.30 WHIP, 96 IP. Salary is at 3.75M, FA after this season. To date he is 1-0, 2.02 ERA, 1.01 WHIP in 26.2 CKL innings.

The Hard Cider and Legends have agreed to a multi-player trade. Going to the Legends - Pete Vuchovich P, Fred Norman P and Cookie Rojas 2B. To the HC - Al Hrabosky P, Dave Cash 2B and the Dust Bunnies' 2nd round pick in '76.
Lew, if you would confirm...?

sorry, here you go
The Legends confirm this trade.
Legends GM/Owner Snyder issued the following statement: It appears that the Legends are on a fast track to nowhere this season. We hate to lose Stretch again, but wish him well and believe he will enjoy being in a pennant race once again rather than on a rebuilding team. And although Davey Cash was with us only a short time, he proved to be a great team player, we wish him well also and believe he will be a great addition to the Cider. The Legends hope that young Vuckovich, who has shown very good potential in the minors, will help our team return to respectability in the near future, while Norman and Rojas will add some experience to our team.

Stats are now updated. Have to run some errands now, so the highlights will get updated a little later.

mac, the trade puts you at 26 players. who goes down
Mark, I noticed Jose Morales hasn't had an AB. Is he called up yet?
September 16, 2012: The Losing Streak Ends
Rojas and Norman are traded from the major league roster, Cash and Hrabosky are added, so I should still be at 25.

"A ballplayer has to just go out and be mean. You can't play half-heartedly. If you do, there's someone right over your shoulder that'll take your job away. If you don't do your job, what they're paying you for, why should they pay you? You just can't put in eight hours, that's what a lot of people don't realize about athletes. Very few people realize the pressure." Dave Kingman
