Hand Written Labels and Notes vs. Computer Printed

I am wondering if the people of this page feel it makes any difference if the envelops sent need to be hand written or can labels be used?

1. Initial envelope to ball player: Hand Written address or Label
2. SASE: Hand written or Label
3. Note to ball player: Hand Written or computer printed?

*** Please respond to all 3 with your opinions and if you have any results to back up that opinion

Thanks you very much

Troy

I hand label my envelopes, but type my letters. I do make sure each letter is obviously customized to the player. I have seen some people who send form letters...to me, that seems lame.

I hand write all my envelopes. Just not a big label guy. Too me, that's just one more expense.
I have had equal success and failure with hand writing and typing my letters. If your hand writing is bad, you should type. No question. (The same goes for the labels) Normally, I type all my letters because I can type faster than I write and if I mess up I don't have to throw the paper away and start over. (again cutting back on expenses and my time) I really don't think it matters. I seriously doubt anyone that actually does sign TTM will be more or less inclined to sign because of the way the letter was presented. I often wonder what percentage of my letters actually get read anyway.

An example-
One year I actually sent out hand written Christmas cards as my form of request thinking that would help my chances with some of the more stubborn signers. "Hey, this guy actually took the time to send me a Christmas card. I'm gonna sign this." Right? All I got was a bunch of my hand written Christmas cards back...RTS. Oh well. Lesson learned.

Good Luck!

Number 1 and 2 are handwritten by me.

I used to handwrite the letters, but soon realized that it took too much time. I switched to typing them out b/c I could get more requests done that way.

I make labels for the return envelope and the return address. I hand write the players address and the notes. If I write a note that I know will be longer than usual I type it.
My handwriting is horrible and I've gotten RTS's because the postal worker can't read my hand writing. I've been told that working on a computer all day and never have to fill out paper work screws up you handwriting

Same here. I hand label all my envelopes and type the letters. I probably wouldn't have a hand left if I wrote all my letters but I still make sure it's genuine and unique to each individual player.

I have always hand written everything. I just feel it's more personal to do it that way. Just my opinon only.
