Maybe its been brought up before, though I never saw it, would anyone think its a good idea to have either a subforum, or just a whole new forum for player discussions. Ive noticed that player discussion forums are scattered all through out the site. There are some in 19th century, history of the game, hall of fame, current events. I think it would be a neat idea to collect them all and put them in their own category. Anyone else agree?

If you wish to compare Mays vs Mantle, then that likely would be History. Both are more than HoF-worthy, so I doubt that HoF would be the best place. If you're comparing prospects, then the Minor League forum would be the place. If women, then the Women's forum. If two players from the same team, then that team forum.
Please provide a sample player comparison so that we can better judge what you're discussing, and how it would be done. Please read Baseball Fever Policy and Forum FAQ before posting. 2007-11 CBA
Rest very peacefully, John “Buck” O'Neil (1911-2006) & Philip Francis “Scooter” Rizzuto (1917-2007)

I meant player discusiion threads. You go into history of the game, and theres a Babe Ruth discussion thread. You go to Hall of Fame, and theres all sorts of discussion threads of random players. I dont mean comparing players, just general threads about players. I know theres not too many player threads of todays players, a goodd amount in the HOF forum, but not as many as there could be. I just thought itd be something to throw out there and see what ya'll think of the idea."I don't like to sound egotistical, but every time I stepped up to the plate with a bat in my hands, I couldn't help but feel sorry for the pitcher."

I would really like to see more individual player discussion in the Current Events forum, I really would. The problem would be to keep it from being so repetitious, likke 6 threads on Derek Jeter going on at the same time. Fortunately, I can control that a little as mod of that forum, but that doesn't necessarily lead to threads on other players.
I'm not sure we need an entire forum on that given the traffic, but I would like to see more of it in general.Dave Bill Tom George Mark Bob Ernie Soupy Dick Alex Sparky
Joe Gary MCA Emanuel Sonny Dave Earl Stan
Jonathan Neil Roger Anthony Ray Thomas Art Don
Gates Philip John Warrior Rik Casey Tony Horace

He never has really let on to his methodology in how he chooses, and he has stressed many times how the threads don't necessitate an endorsement. It's good to be able to discuss someone other than Bert Blyleven and Ron Santo as possible HOFers or where they measure.

It will be convenient for people who wanna either look for one, or start one, to see if one has already been made, thus hopefully eliminating the worry of 6 Derek Jeter threads!
I'm for that if the updating is left to the person creating the player thread.Dave Bill Tom George Mark Bob Ernie Soupy Dick Alex Sparky

That would work. I would volunteer to do it, but Im not on here enough to catch them all."I don't like to sound egotistical, but every time I stepped up to the plate with a bat in my hands, I couldn't help but feel sorry for the pitcher."
