Awesome Brian. Louis Wadsworth, Frank Pidgeon, Dr. William Bell and David McAuslan are also early contributors and contemporaries of Will Wheaton.

Why is Abner Doubleday on the list?
Maybe because in exposing the myth of Abner Doubeday as baseball inventor it gave baseball a chance to explore its roots and origins and allow the truth to be explored. In other words Doubleday,by default almost, allowed for something else to happen...as he was never known to have much,or anything, to do with baseball itself. So in that light he was important to baseball and thus qualifies for the list!?
