White Sox GM suggests game needs to be shutdown to stop high salaries
Free agency replacing arbitration would put more players on the market thus enabling player freedom while giving owners a larger # of players to choose from. Read Marvin Miller's A WHOLE DIFFERENT BALL GAME for his thoughts on Charlie Finley's proposal to let all players become free agents.
Arbitration is an either/or choice by the arbitrator that lessens increments of opinion and increases income.
