Bingo! Talent levels were relatively more equal in this era. The pitching survivors of the `1969 strike zone shrink continued to pitch well. I hate artificial turf but the running game and the large stadiums of that time worked against power hitting. I grew up with the baseball of the 70's and I loved it.
