Since my first blog about the Yankees, they have been red-hot. They have won seven games in a row and their pitching has been lights out. During this streak, they have outscored opponents 45-12 and in five of those seven games, the pitching staff only gave up one run or less. They had consecutive shutouts for the first time since May of 2005. They have equaled the amount of shutouts they threw last season with five, before the All-Star Break. they are now currently seven games over .500 and just 3.5 games back of Tampa Bay for second place and 5.0 games back of Boston for the lead. Something that was very suprising to me, was the fact that the Yankees are one of just five teams that have a winning record on the road, and they are the only team in the American League East that has a winning road record. The other four are the Angels, the Athletics, the Phillies, and the Cardinals.

Hopefully, they can keep this up and make somewhat of a comeback like they did last year. Except maybe this year, they can actually win the AL East? And maybe get past the Division Series? I don't know, I just think that that would be nice for a change.
