  • Millar to Baltimore

Kevin Millar signed a one year deal with the Orioles.

Um... yeah. I guess this means Conine is going to the OF and Millar will split time with Jay Gibbons at 1B? Or what? Is Lopez full-time DH?

Believe it or not, we may have signed Millar for DH time. He of 9 HRs last year. One of the two righties (Millar, Lopez) is going to 1B and the other to DH, primarily. Everything falls into place for the team veteran-wise, but where are the youngsters? Looks like another year in the minors for them.

Is this what they meant by saying to Tejada, "wait one more year"?

I approve Kevin Millar But Again,WE NEED PITCHING!! Why cant mr Angelos understand that? Peter Angelos says hes an orioles fan but how in the hell he knows how to build a baseball team.I know baseball i know what it takes to win.Belive you me i think tejada rather have me as owner cause id grab pitching first then go after the hitters.

i think he is saying we need a legitimate #1 and #2 starter --

It really doesn't seem that Angelos understands that good pitching is essential to a good team. Then again, he did bring in Mazzone, so maybe he's starting to come around. Time will tell.

One thing about getting Millar, he's a great guy off the field, and get ready to have fun watching him all year. Good or bad streak, he's always entertaining.

Maybe that's it, in all seriousness... he was brought in to cheer up the clubhouse. Oh well. They do need it.

This club last year was doing great until the Raffy/Miggy/Sammy soap opera reared its ugly head. I don't know if this group of players can get back to that kind of chemistry but if Millar can help with that, so be it with the signing.
