  • babe ruth orioles

babe ruth signed w/the orioles of the international league in feb of 1915, then was sold to the red sox in july.

question: any photos of him as a baltimore oriole?

another question: I have a baseball card of babe wearing an LA Angels uni during a barnstorming trip. Any idea when/where it might be taken...
(sorry I'm not able to scan & post it here.. working on that..)

          I didn't know that. Interesting.

I think the entire history of American sports would've been different had Babe not ended up as a Yankee. Before his time, pro sports weren't the massive celebrity business they are now. Babe changed all that by being the first superstar athlete, and the spotlight of New York was key in that. Baltimore is a wonderful city, but in terms of glamour, it doesn't compare to the Big Apple.
