  • Scott Moore sent down, Jim Johnson called up

The Orioles have optioned reserve IF Scott Moore to Norfolk, calling pitcher Jim Johnson to the bigs.

Johnson has looked very good so far. He's intended to stay on the team, according to manager Dave Trembley. This means someone is eventually getting cut from the pitching staff. The worst pitcher so far has been Greg Aquino... but I don't think the team can send him to Norfolk.

Also, I wonder perhaps this is better for Moore in the long run. He'll be an everyday player in Norfolk no doubt. Moore should get his ABs in where he can. He's still positionless though, at least officially. I'd think about calling Alex Cintron up in his stead.

    Thoughts?

I like Johnson. I'm glad they're working him out of the bullpen, because with all the pitching prospects, that will probably be his long-term role on this team.

i like scott moore for the future at this time however mora still has 2-3 years b4 hes done so its smart to allow moore to get some AB's. Does anyone know what Moore's contract looks like because i know we got him from the Cubs so i was wondering how much longer we have on him/.
