  • Jeremy Burnitz?

He could play right field and bat fifth. Do you mthink we should get him?

How in the world do you even fathom the idea of Burntiz playing for Boston is beyond me. Not trying to be insulting, but Burntiz? Seriously, man...

the red sox with their payroll can get someone better, he is getting old and won't be of much value
but you guys have some good minor leaguers
david murphy is still with you right? and he plays OF

true, plus they already have someone in WMP.

To sign Jeromy Burnitz instead of play Wily Mo Pena fulltime would just be silly. At worst, Pena should provide the type of offense than Burnitz would provide, plus Pena is younger, cheaper, and has a lot more potential.

Signing Burnitz is to admit up front that you have no chance.

Umm...Jeromy Burnitz has had a long career of striking out a lot. He's like Preston Wilson, except Burnitz is a lefty and can't run all that well, unlike Wilson. If the Red Sox get J.D. Drew, the goal is to keep him healthy because he is prone to injuries. (even in St. Louis he was)

Not to beat a dead horse, but no way to Burnitz.

I'd like to think that the Sox didn't even consider that as a possibility.

Burnitz is simply to Old and Inconsistent while having WMP and also having the opportunity to get J.D. Drew, getting Burnitz would be an odd move to make ...
